There aren't too many Asian markets that have retained their roots. This market to me, represents a good mix of modernization and being back in Vietnam. My grandparents are not really proficient with the English language but the owners of this shop are quite respectful and help my grandparents from the small stuff to the bigger problems. Even when my grandma was hospitalized they gave their condolences to my family with a phone call.

I appreciate the hospitality and kindness they have imparted to my family and have continued to shop there for years. Like mentioned by a previous poster, everything is laid out in front of your eyes and they will tell you when they receive their product.

I know personally that some Vietnamese people can be quite shameless with their demands even though they may have purchased something a week ago and try to return perishable goods.

To the poster who mentioned the duck situation, you are probably uneducated and blame anything for vomiting.

I have had excellent experience with this market for almost a decade now. They are a mom and pop shop who are very keen with personal relationships. For those that leave a negative review, you should reevaluate the setting to your criticisms. Every time I purchase goods to bring to my parents, they go out of their way to select the best cases. If you are not into building personal relationships with a mom and pop shop, then by all means go shop at Walmart where you are just another number.

If you speak with the owners they will tell you that their pastries come in on the weekend and that is when they are at their freshest point.

As per the Chinese BBQ, there is no other place in the area that offers that without a 30+ drive and that too is freshest on the weekend. People need to take the time and build a relationship whether through small talk or anything else. This new generation has no respect for communication.

I agree, this supermarket is the worse. They are so rude. I have never been treated that way before, and refuse to shop there anymore. I'd rather go without the item I need or find it elsewhere, but I won't set foot in that market anymore. The owners/attendants didn't care if they were mean or rude to their customers, and the food is often old.
