Black River Falls is a city in, as well as the county seat of, Jackson County, Wisconsin. The cities main industries are based around agriculture and tourism. The logging and lumber industries are also present in Black River Falls. Many people are attracted to the city because of the casino located there. Another attraction is the Black River State Forest which surrounds most of the city. Students here attend the Black River Falls School District. The Western Technical College also offers classes to residents of Black River Falls. The city hosts the annual Karner Blue Butterfly Festival. The festival was named such because of the large population of that species of endangered butterflies in the area. Famous people with ties to the city include pro baseball players Ernie Rudolph and Phil Haugstad.
