weak drinks and silly policies
I went there on a saturday night. there was no line but there was a $7 cover. I thought this is ridiculous for a beach bar. I'm from LA and used to cover at nice clubs but for a casual place like this a cover is just silly. The bartenders were quick and attentive. No complaints there. However, the drinks were soooo weak. I got a vodka cran but felt like i was just sipping on cranberry juice. Also, there was a minimum of $21 on credit cards. A bit irritating, especially because the ATM in in the corner chargesa ridiculous withdrawl fee. The crowd felt like the typical beach crowd; casual and young, (although looking around i realized half the people there were actually older than me....I'm 24). All in all a good time but that was probably due to the people I was with and not the place itself.
The fill their bottles of booze with water
This is the only conclusion I can come to. Ordered a Vodka Tonic, watched the girl pour it (and it was a standard pour) and the drink tasted like straight tonic water. So in addition to paying a cover it appears you are also paying for boozeless drinks.
There should be a certification board, like those that go around to gas stations to make sure the pumps are giving you enough gas, to make sure that bars dont cut their bottles with water. Will someone hire me for that job??
