Reviews about Fleet Landing Restaurant & Bar
The service was good. The food was bland.
The restaurant decor was nice and the service was great. The parking lot is very small. The restaurant was dirty and dusty. The plastic dividers between the booths were covered with dust as were all the straws. The food sounded great on the menu with interesting combinations of rich flavors. The finished product was suprisingly bland. Our crab dip tasted more like tuna fish. The "Fried Green Tomato BLT" with applewood smoked bacon, arugula, gouda, and a fried green tomato on fociaca was greasy and bland. The bread was tasteless, as was the bacon and the tomato. The crab cake sandwich was the same. The crab cake was a third the size of the bun, which made for a still hungry husband after lunch. The child's portion of fried flounder was the tastiest and most reasonably priced item we ordered. We were dissapointed, and would not recommend.

Nice view of Cooper River and shipping activity, But that's where it ends. I ordered Eggs Benedict with Crabmeat. Somebody forgot to take eggs out of poacher -- they were hard boiled. A fried oyster appetizer had large shells in most of oyster matter, and potato salad had quartered potatoes -- difficult to eat. These are all signs of a lazy kitchen. It took 45 minutes from ordering to first of these "masterpieces" to come to our table -- not good.

We decided to try eating at Fleet Landing while showing downtown Charleston to some weekend guests. While the location was great and the atmosphere was appealing, we wish we had decided to go elsewhere. We arrived at 12:30 and were able to finally pay and leave at 2:20. Service was poor and it took WAY too long to get our food. When our food did finally show up we were very disappointed in the quality and quantity of the food. I ordered the basket of fried scallops with cole slaw and potato salad. What I received was four small, tasteless scallops along with french fries and potato salad. Somehow they forgot to substitute the cole slaw for the french fries. Two of the scallops were luke warm while the other two seemed to have come straight out of the frier. It was the overall impression of everyone in our group that Fleet Landing was a bar pretending to be a restaurant. Next time we have friends in town we will make sure to skip the Fleet Landing Restaurant and try one of the other legitimate restaurants in town.
