About Coral Tree Cafe
Answering an increasing demand for healthy dining in a casual atmosphere, the concept for Coral Tree Cafe was born. When the ideal location became available Coral Tree Cafe went from concept to reality. The goal, to provide quality food and a casual ambiance, whether you like sitting inside or in our outdoor patio. When deciding on a name that best represented the restaurant and Brentwood, Coral Tree Cafe was chosen for its inspiration; the beautiful Coral Trees lining San Vicente Boulevard, located directly across from the restaurant. Coral Tree Cafe opened its doors in November of 2002 and the response from our customers has been outstanding. At Coral Tree Cafe all of our coffees are certified organic, shade grown and fairly traded. Coral Tree Cafe coffee comes from coffee beans that have been grown under a canopy of shade trees which serves as a natural sun screen and provides a safe and natural habitat for migratory birds and other species. "Fair trade" provides an alternative trade model that keeps small farmers in business by guaranteeing them a fair price for their coffee. These are important aspects to the sustainability of coffee that is better tasting and socially responsible. This reflects Coral Tree Cafe's commitment to the delicate ecosystem, our customers' health and fair trade practice.

My wife, 2 year old son, and I have taken our extended family for breakfast at this location 3 times in the last 3 months.
Each time we had problems with the service.
Our last experience pretty much sums up the overall experience we have had each time we have chosen to have Sunday breakfast here. Keep in mind, there were maybe 4 or 5 other tables occupied while we were there, they weren't very busy at all.
Today we had 5 adults and a 2 year old at our table- 2 pancake orders and 3 french toast orders. Simple enough, right? Apparantly not for the staff at this location. They promptly brought out one pancake order and 2 of the french toast orders, and then the wait began.
14 minutes later ( I know this because I timed it) they brought out the third french toast order.... which they got wrong. We explained to the server we were still missing a pancake order and that the last french toast that was brought out was wrong.
It was another 8 minutes before the last pancake order came out, at which time we reminded our server that we were still waiting on the last french toast order that they had brought out wrong.
After waiting just over 10 more minutes for them to get the last french toast order right ( I was tired of looking at my watch after 7 minutes ), my sister-in-law (it was her order that was MIA) went inside to complain to the manager and request her money back since the rest of us were done with our breakfasts
Not only did the manager not offer any type of apology for the service, she actually seemed annoyed that we had a problem with the service. She didn't say a word one way or another during the whole time during and after explaining the poor service and requesting a refund. She just stood there, took our card for the refund and that was it.
The food (once it made it to our table) was good, 3 1/2 stars good. But not good enough to make up for the poor service. No one seemed to even care.
