About Cook's Jewelry

Cooks Jewelry is a family owned and operated store, and has been for over 60 years. Louie Cook started the business in Tipton, Iowa in 1951. He and his wife Virginia ran the store there for almost 50 years before they retired. Now their son, Steve Cook, continues their legacy in Iowa City. Steve opened his own store in downtown Iowa City in 1984. After just two short years of watching the business grow, Steve decided to move the store to its current location in 1986, at Eastdale Plaza. Cooks has now spent 28 years at its current location in Eastdale Plaza. It has been expanded multiple times and has a large number of showcases full of beautiful jewelry, and fine timepieces. Steves wife Cindy joined the business over eighteen years ago, and their son Ben has been working with them for nearly ten years. Bens wife Kaitlyn is also an employee, and has worked there part time for four years. Steve and Cindy are both graduates from the Gemological Institute of America and have many years of combined experience in their profession. Steve and Ben are also experienced goldsmiths, and all jewelry repairs on done on site, in their store.
