Kimpton Hotel Allegro

I recently stayed at the Allegro with my 14-year old son, as part of a weekend "downtown" he earned for great grades (we live in the southwest suburbs of Chicago). I had never been to the Allegro before and didn't know what to expect.
It was just great! The staff was very friendly to us during our entire stay, the lobby and rooms were decorated so uniquely, and the accommodations were comfy and perfect for us.
I highly recommend this hotel to tourists and business people alike.

staff SO nice, no "attitude" at all. bed so comfy. room service so good and so reasonably priced.

two free hours of wine in lobby wasn't hard to handle.

will go there again, and again, and again!

We stayed at the Hotel Allegro when going to see Mary Poppins at the connected Cadillac Palace Theater.
Before arriving, I had to call the concierge numerous times to get him to help me find an appropriate restaurant. Eventually booked us a reservation at 312 Chicago, which turned out wonderfully, but he was unaware that the hotel restaurant had a children's menu.
From the moment we stepped out of the car, until we got in to leave, the staff treated my daughter like she was a princess and their job was to cater to her.
I asked for a room on a higher floor and only received an 8th floor room. The outlet in the bathroom didn't work and we had difficulty turning on the shower.
The beds were very comfortable and our stay was short and sweet. I'm not sure I would return to the Hotel Allegro, but I'm not sure I wouldn't either.
