Alaska Host Bed & Breakfast

If you're doing the long drive from Anchorage to Denali, take a stopover at Alaskan Host in Willow. They have 200 acres with lakes and walking trails, feels like you're smack in the middle of the woods but really you're just off Parkes highway (mile 66 and half ). My wife and I've stayed at resorts aren't a patch on this place but Kathy and Jim only charge B & B rates.

We hiked their trails, saw lots of wildlife. 3 fox, 7 moose, one came right up their drive, got great film from their observatory. My wife booked the whale room for its view the first time but we choose the family room with large spa heading back into Anchorage. Had our own entrance too, which was kinda neat.

Can't recommend this place highly enough. Jim's wildlife museum and Kathy's Alaskan cooking aone make it an extra bonus to Denali.
