About Waunakee, WI
Waunakee, part of the Madison metro area, is a city in Dane County, Wisconsin. The city claims to be the only city by that name in the world. Waunakee was voted 78th on the "Top 100 Best Places To Live" for a small town by CNN Money in 2009. Companies located within the Waunakee Business Park are the city's largest employers. In 2006, the city opened the Village Center, which offers facilities for meetings, a fitness center, and a senior center. Students in the city attend the Waunakee Community School District which consists of three elementary schools, one intermediate school, a middle school and a high school. St. John the Baptist elementary school is also located in the city. Famous people with ties to the city include former NFL running back Ron Dayne and MLB player Cy Pieh.
