We were vacationing in the Wisconsin Dells and our way back home we encountered this fabulous store ! They have so many different and unique items ranging from homemade wood furniture and outdoor novelty items to adorable home decor, jewelry , candles, and unique items galore ! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and even though they were busy were always willing to stop and answer our questions. We took home several items from this store and hope to go back sometime and pick up some items that we didn't get the first time. Hope that they will start a online order sometime soon . The good news is they are not affiliated with Pecks East which is wonderful. I made my first visit to Pecks West today with my 4 and 3 year old. I was approached by the owners son and yelled at with no apologies. He forgot to close a section of the farm once a school left. Me and another family was not aware it was a closed area and Mike Peck approached. He admitted it was his fault and then treated us badly. I indicated we were leaving the area and he did not need to treat us this way in response he asked if I wanted me to have me treat me rude and screamed get out. I mean screamed infront of a 4 and 3 years old. This is not a place I would bring children. I discussed with other employees and their response was that we should not have entered an area that was closed. Again Mike admitted he did not close it. This year will mark another class reunion... and will again look to Hometown Market for our buffet needs. The salads and casseroles they provide were fresh and delicious. We truly enjoyed the decorative serving trays as an added bonus. The hardest part was to narrow down the selections! In response to my hot headed response I left several days ago listed as “Bad Business” - all readers can disregard it. Hometown reconciled the bounced check issue with good customer service. I discovered that it was not hometown who were attempting to “double dip” for fee's but rather the way Tele-check operates with their commercial customers. Hometown, (though they still have a limited selection, are slightly over-priced and need better point sale produce) have superseded all else with a good customer relations marketing policy. If they made the aforementioned retail adjustments and had a strong e-tail presence through e-marketing initiatives, they could easily surpass previous profit margins! Hometowns selection not only is over-priced BUT the selection and produce are not all that great either. Do not bounce a check with them either as they will double charge you their return check fee! I accidentially bounced a check for the first time there recently. I waited for them to run it again as most businesses run the checks twice. Instead of running it twice where they would have gotten paid on the second try, they'll run it then charge you their bounced check fee then, they run it again and charge another fee on top of that one if it doesn't clear the second time! They did not even attempt to contact me though I live within the same tiny village. I have been a loyal customer for years - spending BIG BUCKS there every week...up until now. Call me before you go with these guys. My number is 231-1173. An outfit with the same name put on my roof. I had leaks in my bathroom and kitchen from the poor flashing job they did. The water ruined my cabinetsin thekitchen,caused mold and got in between the walls in the front of my home and bubbled the paint. Affordable roofing did not flash my roof correctly. Consequently I had leaks into my new bathroom and into my kitchen. We painted our home the summer after the roof was put on and becauseof the poor flashing water got behind thepaint and made it bubble. The kitchen leak ruined our cabinets and caused mold.
