Tri-Star Denture & Dentistry

5.0

By Glenna R. Bowman

During the summer of 2009, Lenard Deochand, LD, DD, made an upper denture for me. The work is of excellent quality; I have been very pleased. Because he also creates the denture and is the one who works with you directly, he has total control over the finished product. It took a little longer for the finished product than it might have working through an office utilizing an outside lab, but I received a high-quality product with which I am very pleased. In my case, there has been no need to return for adjustments though he is insistent that you do so if needed. He took the time initially to ensure all was fitted correctly; of course he needs input from the patient as to how it feels, etc. That extra visit then resulted in no need to return. I highly recommend Tri Star Denture Clinic. ...read more

Teeth Whitening - Yes, It Works!

Teeth Whitening – Yes, It Works       Teeth whitening is the most requested service in the beauty market yet there stays a substantial quantity of uncertainty relating to the topic. Teeth whiteningis an extremely lucrative, and thus incredibly aggressive, market; which is possibly why we have this kind of a tricky time sifting through all the details, or mis-information, online. This guide is meant to offer an overview of teeth whitening, how it performs, what to look for when evaluating solutions and services, and help you determine if teeth whitening is for you. Or perhaps, what type of teeth whitening suits you the greatest. Type of Gel: There are essentially two types of bleaching gels used in the US. Hydrogen peroxide gel and carbamide peroxide teeth whitening gel. Hydrogen peroxide is the active ingredient; i.e. hydrogen peroxide is what bleaches your teeth. Carbamide peroxide has to break down into hydrogen peroxide before it can bleach your teeth. 36% carbamide peroxide is approximately equivalent to 12% hydrogen peroxide. Gel Concentration: The higher the concentration, the faster and more extraordinary your benefits will be. Nevertheless, only a dentist should carry out bleaching with high concentrations of H2O2 as these gels can damage the soft tissue in your mouth and only a dentist is qualified to safeguard your soft tissue properly. Any gel can potentially damage your soft tissue if used improperly so be sure your whitening professional is very well qualified or that you very carefully adhere to instructions if you are applying the gel by yourself. Also, the stronger the gel, the greater the likelihood of encountering tooth sensitivity.  Method of Applying: The method of applying the gel to the teeth can vary from having to paint it on yourself while you’re sitting in the chair to having trays, which hold the gel, custom molded to your teeth. If you are having expert chair-side bleaching, be certain to inquire about who will apply the gel and how they will apply it. Remember, only a dentist can put anything in your mouth or on your teeth.  Bleaching Light: There are three kinds of lights; LED, plasma arc, and halogen. Of the three, halogen is documented by third party research to be the most powerful. However, fantastic results have been documented making use of all three types of light. Probably just as critical is how well the light reaches the areas of your teeth. How Long It Should Take: Whitening treatments are generally offered in deals where you get one, two or three treatments in the same appointment. Each treatment lasts approximately 15 minutes. So don’t just question how much time it’s going to take, ask how many applications you will receive during your treatment. If you are using one of our hometeeth whitening kits, the gel is in all probability carbamide peroxide gel. Carbamide peroxide gel must break down into hydrogen peroxide to be able to whiten your teeth. It takes 15-20 just for it to start breaking down. That is why home whitening takes more time. Shades Whiter: Your teeth whitening professional will compare your teeth before and after with a teeth whitening guide. Hopefully he or she uses either the Spectrum or the R-20 teeth bleaching guide because those two brands are arranged from darker to whiter. It truly depends on your teeth, but you can count on up to 8 shades lighter for professional whitening and 2-3 shades for home whitening. Results: the length of time your results will last is considerably dependent upon how properly you care for your teeth after the whitening treatment. Your final results will last longer if you use a follow up home whitening program and refrain from things like red wine, tea, cigarettes, and coffee. Cost: The price for teeth brightening is all over the place! 1-hr professional bleaching can cost from $50 to $300 or a lot more, relying on whether or not a dentist does the treatment and how many treatments you get. Kits may cost from $29 all the way up to $189 or a lot more. Just be certain to compare oranges with oranges. And remember, it is the hydrogen peroxide in the gel that bleaches away the unsightly stains on your teeth.       ...read more
