Bad: This place is a cult and I am saying this from years of experience with Mars Hill as a member who use to love this palace, follow them blindly and function as a "serving member". If you are a baby C. ...read more

Wonderful people who work there! They really want to help people and are genuine about it. My son likes it there and has grown up some and made good friends. He has found a second home and they welcomed him right away, despite his being the youngest resident there. He goes to school, works, and even goes to church. It's a lifesaving place and we are so glad we found it. ...read more

First Presbyterian Church of Seattle

Their wedding coordinator, Kathryn O., has a lot of practice, so she was a great help w/planning for the ceremony, rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. We had the rehearsal dinner catered, but paid the church to provide china, silverware and table cloths. Since everyone was from out of town it was nice to be able to have the dinner at the church so people in the wedding didn't have to find their way to another place and out of town guests found the church the day before the ceremony. The church was beautiful and they give you all the rules and fees upfront. Their stained glass windows are amazing and their smaller chapel feels so homey. (The also have a larger, sanctuary) Their organist, David Lapse, is wonderful - he works with you to make sure that the music is just how you like it. Kathryn did have one slip up when she told me, not so politely, that I needed to get out there and get my pictures taken right then (in the middle of a huge dress and veil crisis.) I know she felt horrible in the end though, and she was just trying to keep things on track. ...read more

Tree of Life Books & Judaica

We had visited this business once before and found the associate to be very rude and unhelpful. We went to try to purchase the from this store because we realized that this store was the only one in town. Once again, this associate was there and very unhelpful. She and the owner began to argue over details in the process and are unable to help us with our Jewish names. As we are asking questions, the associate continues to shout back about details that we were unaware of. She finally throws me a figure that I did not expect and began to rattle off prices that were never discussed. \t\n\t\nOn top of all of this, they have a fan that is right above the cash register and when my fiance continuously asked me to come over to help her decide things, I kept saying that I cannot stand under the fan because it is extremely uncomfortable. We decided that we were powerless because they were the only place in town, so ended up purchasing the ketubah. While the cc is being rung up, this associate asks if the fan is making me uncomfortable. I answered "I've only said it did for the last 1/2 hr." She replies that she is at that age where she doesn?t even notice it and never offers to do anything to help us! We left there feeling like we had just been taken! \t\n\t\nWe decided to call up and cancel the order because we did not wish to look at our ketubah for the rest of our lives as a time of pain. The associate tells my fiance that she is glad that we are not getting it because we didn?t look like we should be married!!! The owner (who is 60% deaf) was a tad helpful, but the damage has been done. \t\n\t\nI only have this warning for you... if you see a blond, older and rounder woman when you walk in this business, WALK OUT and go online. I do not wish bad luck on this business, but wish to inform everyone on this associate and her practices.\t\n ...read more

Upperroom Church of God In Christ

By tdriver7 at Citysearch

The Upper Room Church of God In Christ appeals to the serious Christian worshiper as well as the new convert. It has a good combination of Grand ol' COGIC structure and teaching with outreach ministries in place that meets the needs of the youth and young adults. The Pastor, Kelley Easter is man with a heart of Gold. First Lady Ruth Easter is a hard working humble servant of Christ. The Upper Room makes a significant positive difference in people's lives and in the surrounding community. It is a place where souls have come to Christ, found God's love in atmosphere and received the gifts of the Holy Spirit. ...read more
