This is a review for John Bryant from the Cashmere Riverside Center who officiated our wedding in 2011. He was quite possibly the worst part of our otherwise perfect big day. Every time I see him in our wedding, I get mad at myself for hiring him. He was very hard to get in touch with, even after we paid our deposit. We wanted a short, simple ceremony. We didn't ask a lot, except for 1) no prayer and 2) at the end, prompt the guests throw confetti as we exit. Guess what? A prayer was given at our ceremony. Also, before we made our exit, I had to turn around and remind him to prompt the guests to throw confetti. He started to argue with me "no...it's fine." I almost did it myself. He referenced my high-stress level in the ceremony! Gee, I wonder why I may have been anxious over the phone...he was unresponsive up until two months before our wedding. First of all, never make the bride look bad, most definitely not in the middle if her wedding!! ...even if you are trying to make a really bad joke. Let me clarify, I am no bridezilla! Our venue, caterers, photographers, DJ, and florist all complemented us on what a delight it was to work with us..."we were so organized"..."it was such a breeze"..."you are the nicest bride I've worked with"..."both you and your families are the sweetest." John Bryant also seemed unprepared at our rehearsal and did not take it seriously. That led to confusion for the bridal party on the big day and the rings coming out at the wrong time. I later found out he also runs a catering company (Jasco) and was running for City Council in Cashmere. He was probably just too busy to give our wedding any thought at all. To make matters worse, I found out a few months later that he has a history of domestic violence and sexual harassment. Please do not let him near your wedding!! ...read more

We had a memorial service at the Center. It was a difficult time for me and my family. The staff did a wonderful job with the aspects considering the nature of the event. John was exceptional at taking care of last minute requests as we had never done this before. The office was intially hard to get ahold of but John gave us his personal cell phone number and was always quick to respond. I hear that this was not always the case but for me and my family he did a fantastic job, I have a niece getting married next year and am recommending she use the Center. Again, many thanks to John and the staff at the Center during this difficlut time. ...read more
