About Providence Forge, VA
Providence Forge, named for a foundry established here in 1770 to make farm implements, is located in New Kent County, Virginia, in the Richmond metro area. A major attraction is visiting Barry's Berries & Jan's Jams, a pick-your-own berry farm where you can enjoy a picnic in a shaded table. Each year in September, the Annual Chickahominy Pow-Wow/Fall Festival is held here. One of the best places to visit when you are in Providence Forge is nearby Colonial Downs, where you can watch thoroughbred horse racing and home of the Annual Jacobs Investments Grand Slam and Virginia Derby.
