I just received a question as to why photographers can be so expensive. Yet if you ask any photographer what they think, they will tell you that photography is the most underpayed profession going, haha. This is my answer and feel free to add your input.    A photographer gets a photoshoot for family portraits scheduled to be shot outside. He/She spends 1 hour on location with the family. Once the photographer has the images they feel are high quality photos, then comes the fun part. Editing, Color Correction and making them look absolutely perfect for their client. This process can take as much as 3-5 hours sometimes to go through a 1 hour shoot. But lets look at other things like pre/post consultation. Every photographer will make sure that their client gets their moneys worth. The photographer will make sure they know what their customer wants beforehand, and later delivers the finished goods for approval. Does it sound like a lot yet? Also there is a bit of drive time involved, Some photographers have studios and others have a mobile studio but either way the cost should also included. With all of this in mind, this shows what really goes on behind the scenes. Photographers are picky creatures with all of the right intentions but would you have it any other way? I have met a lot of photographers over the years and I am at envy of their work.
