Onalaska is a part of the Lake Livingston, Polk County region of Texas known for its origination in 1840 as a farming community and as home to Carlisle Mill, once known as the largest sawmill in Texas. Major attractions include Lake Livingston and the many campgrounds and marinas in the area such as Lake Side RV Resort & Marinaand golf courses and the Alabama Coushatta Indian Reservation.
