My daughter attended Starwood for a period of time. While intelligent, she was having difficulty with fine motor activities (i.e. writing and cutting). The teacher, with a flat affect, did not handle the situation as well as one would hope and the director was unwilling to listen when I suggested accomodations to the Montessori curriculum (i.e. positive behavior supports, opportunites sucess). I was disappointed with the rigidity and lack of flexibility. Very discouraging-especially when one pays so much money for a positive, fun, individualized learning environment typically 24 children in the class). Beware of the educational consultant very pricey with little guidance. My daughter was made to feel 'bad' and had a negative attitude about attending school. After removing her from such a negative atmosphere, she began to flourish and be happy. We lost a lot of money but I am so thankful we took her out.
