Pricing structure

Everyone deserves to have a deer head mounted regardless of their economic conditions. At Re-creations by Steve, we will offer the client several different levels and you will be able to choose a quality shoulder mount based on the level you can afford. With each level comes a Higher degree of quality, the higher the level you choose the more detail involved. We are Going to dicuss each of these levels, whats involved, the price of the level. there are 5 levels to every mount, ranging from the standard mount to the museum quality mount. Most taxidermists set their prices and you pay that given price, no exceptions. This locks out many hunters from being able to have a trophy mounted. By producing leveled taxidermy, the client will pay only for the detail at a specific level. Level one - This is the standard mount, it is a quality mount and we stand behind it as we do for all our work. A level 1 mount is priced at $350.00. The hide is not tanned, but is preserved using the best preservative on the market. Many taxidermist use this method. It is also worthy to note that the level 1 standard mount has no detail such as muscles, veining. The nose pad has no detail texture and the nostrils are plugged. The trophy is painted, but not detailed. This is the only way we can produce a trophy at this price. Level Two - This mount takes the level 1 mount a little farther by adding in Muscle detail, veining of the face. The nose pad is not detailed and the nostrils are plugged. This deer is also mounted by using the dry preservative method. The Price is $385.00 for the level 2 mount. Level Three - This level mount adds on to the level 2 Mount. The level 3 is leather and is tanned in-house and known as the wet tan. The nostrils are opened, the nose pad is dimpled. The price of this mount is $450.00. This will be the most popular. Level Four - This level Takes on a more realistic effect, due to it's detail. It builds off the level 3 mount, This is an in-house wet tanned cape, with a septum installed in the nostril, the bottom lip is built out to show. The eyes are  set with a nicitating membranes. The eyes are top of the line. this is a very beautiful mount. This level is priced at $550.00 Level five - This mount is a museum quality mount for the discriminating sportsman who want only the best. It takes the level 4 mount and fine tunes it, adding blood veins in the septum, eyes, and the ears, all materials are top of the line, no expense spared. the finish work is very detailed and the nose pad, eyes, and nostril sport a highly wet look using fiberglass resin, The cape is dry tanned, so the hide is sent to the Tannery. Only level 5 trophies will be used in competitions, This level is $725.00 The prices are for whitetail deer shoulder mounts only, other trophies carry their own price. All open mouth work is extra depended on the level purchased. All horn repairs are extra based on $25.00 per point. Repair of main beam can range from $45.00 -$175.00. Dettachable Antlers are available from $95.00 - $180.00. Panels are $55.00 - $75.00 Pedestals are 40% more Wall bases for deer Pedestal bases are extra depending on what client chooses. Glass Cases, End Tables, Coffee Tables are available. base and habitat work

we design our habitat bases using a polyurethane base, this allows the bases to be light. The form can be carved in any manner or style i feel the base needs for character. If I'm creating a swamp scene, I design the basic layout in polyeurothane foam, then i use liquid fiberglass, brushing it onto the foundation, then placing the dirt over top, leave ,moss and other materials are added to create the effect of a swampy area the dirt will be blackened and have a wet look and pools of fiberglass depicting water is built in,swamp plants are added, duckweed in the water, and if desired, for added effect crawfish, minnows, a fish, water beetles can be added to give that extra touch of reality. Rock scenes are done by creating and casting real rocks, you still have the eurothane foundation which is created to put artificial stones and fiberglass helps to create the effect im looking for and sand is added to the base between the stones giving me a rocky sandy scene, when its done it would be hard to tell that its anything other than natural. These bases are realistic looking and and set off the entire trophy, like looking at it as it was in nature, our base work adds that extra touch that that creates the entire look of the trophy. These bases are already added into the price of our taxidermy, so you will know what it will cost when you leave our studio. no surprises. ...read more
