Brockington Funeral Home

5.0

By Panther Black at Citysearch

I just went to a friend's dad's funeral at Brockington Funeral Home. I was absolutely blown away with the service I experienced at this firm. I went to the visitation and witnessed the sweetest thing: Aaron, the owner and head undertaker, was coloring and drawing with the granddaughter of the deceased. He got her crayons and paper and drew with her for an hour while her parents saw the people. I mean, the head man doing this... Wow. The next day, Aaron gave me and my friends a tour of the whole home, which was so gorgeous. Aaron knew so much funeral history and loved taking the time to talk to us.\t\n There is a phrase that sums this up well: "You can measure how nice somebody really is on the inside by the way they treat those who they don't know". Aaron didn't know me before that day, yet he was super kind, thoughtful, and sooo friendly. He had nothing to gain from me, yet he treated me and my friends like kings.\t\n I have since talked to my Dad, and we know without a doubt who our undertaker will be when that faithful day comes....\t\n To sum it all up, I just was deeply moved by Aaron Brockington and his treatment of my friend and his family. I feel Brockington's is the best: service, care, and friendliness - it's all there with them. \t\n ...read more

Domino's Pizza

1.0

By JSPhillips at Citysearch

Monday, Nov 7 at 7pm My first experience with Dominos, Lake City- Need new management and cooks to follow the recipe! Placed my order online, for carry out - when I got to the store to pick up my $20.80 order, I was told, by the cashier, that the store could not break my $100 bill. OK??? hmmm. Cashier says, go to another store and come back and pay for your food? Well, I have 3 kids buckled in car seats and its after dark in LAKE CITY- who wants to volunteer for taking them in a store? I am Paying YOU for a service- Right? Well, I wasn't gonna go back BUT I got in the car and my 4 year old says "Momma, where is the pizza" :( Geeee! So, I think-- Mcdonalds! they can break a $100! We drive to Mcdonalds- wait in line- have to buy minimum purchase....understandable... get CHANGE, finally! but then I have to "pull up, please" and wait on that purchase. OK, so I call Dominos to tell them that I was on the way back to pick up the pizza - Go in Dominos- Cashier says $20.80 and hands me the boxes- I have a $20 bill and all of 35 cents in my pocket- I thought I heard him say $20.18 EARLIER ?? Ok, well box total says $20.80, so legit - Cashier says I need 45 cent. At this point I am like, "For Real!!!!!" WOW! I think I should be the one making requests. So, go back to the car get another $20 bill. Pay with 2 $20 bills. Didn't say anything to cashier- not his fault I was thinking as the manager, lacking any professionalism or customer service skills is counting one dollar bills out for my change ,$19 in ones- She does not apologize for the INCONVIENCE... say thanks for your business...... nothing, not even a friendly nod for understanding---- OK, no gesture of appreciation or curtousy item offered. Well, my "change" should be $19.20 ummmmm not $19 ones!!!! Wanted to question me over the 20 cent they owed me tooooo. WOW! I have never experienced that bad of "service" before- and with management present in the front of the store! no management apology? Probably won't gain loyal customers to say the least. Then, then... the pizzas were cold (in the car) and when I got home- soooo greasy (no exageration) the grease literally dripped from the bottom of one of the pizzas -picked up and held the slices up, the grease pooled and ran off into the trash can- tried to salvage with paper towels, but the crust was even saturated with grease- kids would not eat it AFTER ALL of that. This was my worst EVER experience at a pizza place! Wish the owner could find good people- and cook the food right. I give it one star, because I always like to believe there is hope and for that poor cashier I hope he can find a successful job one day with good leadership in management. He had potential. Highly discourage attempting to do "business" - if you can call it that- with this Dominos. ...read more

Tips That Can Help Eliminate The Stress And Worry Of Selling Your Home

When you are selling your home, there are many easy fixes you can do to make it more appealing to potential buyers. Many times great houses unnecessarily sit on the market for long periods of time, eventually driving the price down so it will sell. The tips fromRainier Home Buyersin this article should help you to make your house more "buyer friendly," and sell more quickly. When selling your home, always hire a Realtor who will take quality pictures of your property. A virtual tour is essential in today's market as well. Remember that your property will be marketed on the internet and so, top notch visual presentation is key to attracting potential buyers. Before setting a selling price, don't just rely on the real estate agent to tell you what you can set the price at. Look around at recent sales of properties similar to yours to see what the actual sales price was. This will give you an idea of what the market is like and what people are actually paying for properties like yours. When trying to figure out what price to sell your home for, look more at the prices that houses similar to yours sold for rather then houses that are currently on the market. When an appraisal is made for the sale of your home, the mortgage company will only approve a mortgage for the amount of the appraisal, even if both the buyer and seller agreed on a higher amount. Appraisers use previous sales as their guide. By doing this up front, you will keep yourself from having issues during the sale process. Selling a house can be difficult, especially in this market. Hopefully this article gave you some great easy-to-do ideas to make your house more appealing to buyers. Make the house you are selling irresistible! ...read more
