Sturdi-Built Greenhouse Mfg Co

I bought the Sturibuilt Tropic model greenhouse 10 x 14 feet. The workmanship on the pieces was good and it was a good working greenhouse. We grew flowers in it for about 10 years until it started to rot away. Every place there were iron fasteners installed by their factory the redwood rotted first. The door started sagging and eventually the whole roof line started to droop. The redwood was so completely disintegrated that it could not be repaired. It became an eyesore to the neighborhood and had to be replaced. The experience was very disappointing and Rick at Sturdibuilt was not helpful. This time we are going with aluminum so it will last more than just a few years. ...read more

Being A Botanist myself and having previously owned a mail order rare and exotic Botanical business.. I had never been to this place before and had heard that they had quite an extensive list of rare and exotic plants.. So we went .. A asked the (old guy) right up front that I had two or three questions for him.. the questions were did they have any Plants of the Genus MIMOSA..He Said a Quick "No" Then I asked if they had any Plants from the Acacia Genus of Plants and Trees.. and he said oh yes we have those they're inside. so we walked inside together and he directed me to the plant called ALCASIA which is not from the ACACIA Family and I told him this and they shrugged his shoulders and told me top talk with this other guy so I met this other guy walked up shook hands and then asked the same question regarding if they had an ACACIA PLant or Tree.. He seemed to know much more of what was what and where it was he directed me to the only ACACIA tree they had which was from Australia.. for 21.95..at last 20 minutes later I had a had an answer... So My Other friend who was with me came to purchase some potting soil and some tomatoe plants and ask for some (Impatience) flowers so regarding asking about the (Impatience flowers he was told quickly... Nope Way to early...in the season..and the potting soil we discussed among ourselves and the old guy says well if your gonna plant tomatoes youll need the much bigger bag of soil my firned said.. well no because ill be using hanging planters.. so we know roughly how much soil we need.. so the old guy shrugs his shoulders again and say s Well Ok.. So My frined enquired how much the price for their hanging tomatoe plants and the old guy tells him $49.00 per plant...my friend says well for tha price will I get 49.00 worth of tomatoes.. the old guy says "Of course you will, what do you expect us to do just give the plants away he says no i didnt expect them for free.. but 49.00 is way to much for ONE tomatoe plant.. we purchased the potting soil..and canned the tomatoe and Acacia plant ideas..the service was Dry and rather rude to say the least.. Who cares whether the plants look nice if your not treated like a human being who cares if you do business and buy their highly overpriced merchandise.. we are done whith this place and will be doing our business at the Cascade Nursery in Vancouver, Washington....Thumbs Down.... ...read more
