We RARELY go to a movie anywhere else. Why would we when we can wait a couple of months to see it at Mt. Hood Theatre, or rent it from Netflix. It is a very comfortable, family friendly place. I wait for almost every movie to come to the Hood Theater. They arrive prior to hitting video. The new owners have spent the last few years making some great renovations. What was once a bit of a dive is really becoming a great facility. They have added a great high-end sound system, new seating on the lower level, a new marquee, and fresh paint(even a great ceiling mural). PRICES ARE AWESOME! $3 to see a double feature and the food is inexpensive. You can see two movies and get popcorn and a soda for roughly what it would cost for just an adult ticket at a Regal/Century theater.\t\nI have been going to the Hood for over 20 years and all the owners have always been very community friendly, offering matinees for families and supporting local schools. The Mt. Hood Theatre is great. The staff is polite, the tickets are cheap, the goodies are reasonable, the screen is good, and the theatre itself is nostalgic and inviting. It is hard to complain when you can see two fairly recently released movies for less than half the price of ONE movie in a corporate theater.
