Henry proclaimed SBA support in June 14 flooding (Oklahoma City) Gov. Brad Henry today announced that Oklahoma County has been declared a disaster spot through the U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for the fatal flooding episode that took place June 14. Under the declaration, contiguous counties will also be eligible for help, and therefore residents in Canadian, Cleveland, Kingfisher, Lincoln, Logan&Pottawatomie counties can also sign up for support. The designation provides SBA low-interest catastrophe loans for renters, homeowners and business owners to restore or replace any structure damaged by the flooding which was not included by insurance or alternative support programs. The loan program is also obtainable to assist corporations that sustained economic injury as a result of intense weather. The Governor asked the SBA assistance last week after FEMA refused Individual Assistance for Oklahoma County residents.
