Idiots. I left an absentee bit with this auction house on a tea set I wanted. They were apparently confused of whether it was a phone bid or an absentee bid so their solution? Not to place a bid for me at all. They didn't call to ask, they just decided not to place a bid. That cost the consignor money. They were impossible to get on the phone to begin with to get a condition report on the item and the whole staff seemed miserable during any attempt to get information from them on the lot. Do yourself a favor, if you want to get what your item is worth take it somewhere else - they aren't interested in you getting the best price and they certainly aren't interested in placing a bid for you as a bidder either. ...read more
