I went to this salon against my better judgement because there were several signs that said a relaxer was 40 dollars. Because of those signs I didn't ask the uncertified hair dresser the price if the services. After my hair was complete the woman called her manager with out speaking to me and spoke with her manager in another language which I am fully capable of understanding and asked of she could raise the price of the relaxer. She then told me the relaxer was 65 dollars! 65 dollars for an unlicensed woman to do my hair. And there were several things I would've asked her to do differently if I knew what she was charging. So readers beware a certified beautician who has had proper training and possibly years of experience charges the same amount for a relaxer as the unqualified women at this salon!!! I went into Emses Hair Design and Spa as a walk in client a year ago. I was amazed by their professional staff and expert service. Since then I became a regular customer and won't let anyone but Gus cut my hair. His hands are like magic. I have not had anyone cut my hair with such precision and expertise as him.
