The Greatest Challenge for a Startup is Getting Started!
I use to think that the most difficult aspect of starting your own business was coming up with the ideal concept. Don't get me wrong, having a good idea is essential to starting a business. And it should be an idea that you believe in. But it has been my own experience that once the business plan has been drawn and all the i's have been dotted and the t's crossed, the real work begins! The most difficult thing I have learned about starting a business is the amount of patience it takes to get things just right. Sometimes it takes years to create the right business plan, get the right investors and find just the right location. We soon learn that all of the necessary steps it takes to start a business don't always align the way we want them to. It would be quite wonderful and astonishing if the success of a startup were simply based on getting your ducks lined up on paper. The truth is there is nothing just right about getting a business started.
