Renting from Alerus Property Management was one of the worst expiriences of my life! When we agreed to rent the property, we were told that some things would be fixed before we moved in and that the interior would be repainted. Shortly before we were to sign the lease and after we had already put in our notice to vacate our current place, Alerus raised the cost of rent by $40. We didn't have any other options but to move in. There were painters there when we showed up to move in. Throughout the rest of our stay whenever we needed something fixed, it took a minimum of 2 weeks and 5 calls to Alerus to get the job done. We left after 3 1/2 months. Alerus properties kept $634.00 of our deposit and pro-rated rent for the month for wear and tear on the carpet. The carpet was not replaced but they took our money anyway. ...read more

I rented a property from Alerus Property and it was horrible! we found out the AC advertised did not work. we called repeatedly to have them repair it . a week later someone finally returned our phone call and another week before it could be fixed. The house advertised a garage; It was in horrible condition and falling apart. we were told it would be replaced before the winter. it was never replaced. we had to leave town for a funeral we gave them a check for the rent so that it would be paid on time. the check wasnt entered into the system and we were charged us for a late fee saying that we didnt pay them on time. it was fixed but it was more trouble than it should've been.
