Like many Americans, I am one of those who are struggling to make ends meet and have found myself having no choice but to reach out to various organizations for help. While I do not doubt they have had a dramatic impact during their early years, I am beginning to wonder if they have any empathy at all today. In more than 2 weeks, no once has the phone been answered nor has anyone returned one of the many messages left. I have been told by the Assistant to the President of a local community college that the representatives of Women in Action are still attending the many luncheons given by various women's groups AND still soliciting funds for their organization.
