In general they are OK for vacuum sales, if you don’t mind the sign on the back of the store that says “The store with a woman’s touch” - whatever that means, apparently they think men don’t clean? Don’t bother renting the rug cleaners, they don’t fully work. When I called to reserve a machine, I was told 1 out of the 5 they had included working upholstery attachments - seemed odd that a vacuum sales/repair store didn’t have operational machines to rent. I wanted the attachment, and when a question about the machine came up I heard someone in the background of the call say “We can make that work,” I guess that meant lying to me about having an operational machine when I picked it up. I thought I'd always give them a five star rating. I've owned a Simplicity vacuum cleaner from them, and have been pleased. Also, I'm a fan of KTOE, and when I heard the owner give a talk, I was dead set that they were number one. However, my opinion has changed as of today. I rented a Royal carpet shampooer from them yesterday. I was reminded to be gentle putting the water chamber in, as they tend to crack. So I handled it with kid gloves, and there seemed to be no problem. This morning I got up to continue my carpet cleaning and there was a big water patch on my carpet. I called and left a message to no avail. Called back and was told that there must be a crack in the unit, despite me being ever so careful. Went back and they gave me a new chamber to use. Upon returning it I was charged half of the price for the cost of a new one. I'm very loyal to the community businesses in Mankato who do good service. I would rather pay more for them. ...read more
