We recently had 8-10" of rain here in Faribault, MN. Most of my clients have the back up of sewer and drain endorsement on their homeowners insurance policy. We recommend this to all clients and take the time to explain this important endorsement. I would pay for dwelling damage of 10,000 and listed contents if the sewer or a drain backs up into your home. Many times the sump pump can not keep up and the basement is damaged due to water coming thru the sump basket. Claims has determined this is a drian and coverage would apply.
