NEW YEARS EVE RECEPTIONS

One of the most popular dates in the calendar for a wedding reception is December 31st…New Years Eve!This date is popular for many reasons; it marks the end of one year and the beginning of the next.  Due to the Christmas holiday season, many family members who travel long distance to come back "home for the holidays" are also conveniently in town for your wedding day.  Yet another reason, combining a wedding reception with a New Years Eve celebration basically create the ultimate party atmosphere!As the bride&groom;, you will find that there are a few extra perks to having your reception on this date.  Most reception facilities that normally have you end the festivities at midnight will allow you and your guests to stay until 12:30am or even 1:00am to party it up a little longer. ..usually at no extra charge.  Some facilities will have balloon drop over the dance floor at midnight.  Facilities may have a large screen to display a countdown from one of the local television networks. Champagne toasts are a must but make sure you have a reception staff or dependable family members who will be able to pour all the glasses necessary 20-30 minutes before midnight.No matter what you decide to do for the big ball drop at midnight, there is one thing you need to do first…book your bridal vendors!  This date does book fast and very far in advance so you will need to be on the ball (no pun intended) if you want to get first choice of the best DJs, photographers, florists, etc. ...read more
