Steve & Jim's Appliance Service

I bought a stove from here thinking it would be better than risking buying one off craigslist... Jim said everything is like new and has a 30 day guarantee.... when it was delivered one of the burners didn't work, it took him a full month of dragging his feet and making excuses to get over and fix it. When I finally got mad and demanded he do something he had the nerve to YELL at me and call me "snotty." Don't deal with this jerk! ...read more

They offer a special for a vacuum tune up in the monthly mail coupons. They advertise that they sell and service Panasonic vacuums. I didn't have a current coupon at the time but assumed they specialized in vacuum repair. Took my cleaner in for a "tune up", belt replacement and new light bulb. About a week later they called to tell me it was ready. When I got there I asked if they replaced they light. The lady told me they usually don't replace them because they burn out as soon as you bump the vacuum, but she did put a new one in and charged me an extra $3. Total bill was about $50. Got it home and the first time I used it the belt broke and the light burned out. Returned to the store and they put a new belt on. Got it home and again the first time I used it the belt broke. Called the store and Bob said he'd take care of it personally. Took it back in, they kept it for another day. Bob assured me it was fixed this time, he had tested it thoroughly and put in a new bulb. He also gave me a pack of vacuum bags for my trouble. Well, I got it home again and the belt broke and the bulb burned out on the first use. Called the store and Bob acted as if he didn't remember. "Well, we see a lot of vacuums in here." He told me to bring it in again. I said I would prefer to take it somewhere else and that I would return the bags if I could get a refund. He reluctantly agreed to give me back my money. When I got there the first concern of the woman was if I had opened the pack of bags, which I hadn't. I got the uncomfortable feeling as if they felt I was trying to rip THEM off. Nonetheless, I took the vacuum into Circle Sew and Vac in Midland. They had it fixed in one day, only charged me $20 and the vacuum has been working perfectly ever since. And the bulb hasn't burned out. My guess is that Bob uses cheap replacement parts and overcharges customers. I won't return for that reason. ...read more

Bay Vac & Pedal

Bob and the people from Bay Vac and Pedal come HIGHLY recommeded by my family. You will not find a more Honest, Ethical, Down to Earth, Qualified store for vacs and bikes. We have purchased both a high end vacuum cleaner (Lindhaus) for our home, and a midrange mountain bike formy daughter. We have been extrememly satisfied by thier customer service and treatment: before and after the sale. I was treated as well as a "just shopping" passer by as I was when I came in for purchasing, and as well as when I have a question or problem to solve. I have been cycling for over 20 years and am very pleased with thier line of product, and the quality of products offered. They are also very accomodating. It it adds to thier credit, we live 500 miles away (Green Bay WI area), and shop when we are visting family in the area. We have found thier prices not only reasonable - but on the bike, we saved $100 compared to the similar model that was offered in our area by the "bigger" bike stores. Bob and his guys have our business for as long as they like. We highly recommend them - hands down! ...read more
