Customer beware! Monty’s cannot be trusted. I brought my Harley into the shop for a rear tire change and handle bar swap. Shop told me it would cost over $1000 for everything. I told them not to do it and they tried to charge me storage fees for the time it was there. In addition, they charged me for an estimate fee; I never asked for an estimate, I asked them to let me know if the bike needed anything in addition to handlebars and rear tire. They changed the tire and then when I wanted to take the bike back they would not let me, saying the handlebars were too unsafe and needed to be changed out. A few of my boys went down to the shop and took the bike out of there but it still cost me $500 and I brought my own tire in. Bike was not running the same as when I brought in it there, not sure what they did. Stay away from this place, they have no respect and will take advantage of you! I have not yet bought a bike at Monty's but I am hopping to. At the age of 45 and riding since the age of 7 I have purchased many bikes over the years and at many dealers. There is no dealer out there that will make everyone satisfied. My opinion is that Monty's is a great shop. I done business their in regards to parts and clothing and have never had an issue. The word of mouth I have heard has always been on the positive side. If just about every person I spoke to had something negative to say then I would take notice but that is not the case. I tried buying a bike their 3 yrs. ago and it didn’t work out but it’s not to say they are no good. It just came down to business. Hopefully this time it will work out. Remember no shop is perfect but in my humble opinion Monty’s is one of the best dealers around. I remember the days of no bikes and waiting list and they were the fairest shop around. I recently baught a brand new street bob. I found the salesperson to be honest and moreover friendly . He was helpful and accomodating even though I was a pain . I also purchased some apparel and found all of the staff there at Momtys helpful and cooperative. I am an older consumer so I know of which I speak.
