About West Bridgewater, MA
West Bridgewater, MA, population 6,634 (2000 census), was incorporated in 1822, separating from Olde Bridgwater of which it was a part when it first settled in 1651. Although, now, mostly a residential town, West Bridgewater got it's start as a farming and commercial community due, in large part, to The Towne River which provided power for milling and water for irrigation. West Bridgewater is located in Plymouth County, in the Boston-Cambridge-Quincy metro area and home of the Keith House (The Reverend James Keith Parsonage), a 17th century church parsonage preserved by the Old Bridgewater Historical Society (OBHS).
