About Russellville, KY
Russellville is the county seat of Logan County, Kentucky and was named for the Revolutionary War soldier General William Russell. It was also the seat of the alternate Confederate government of Kentucky during the Civil War (the state never officially seceded). Russellville High School is the largest school in the city. Large companies in Russellville include the Rockwell International Corporation and the General Products Corporation. Russellville hosts the annual Music on the Square series of outdoor concerts in the summer. Attractions include Logan County Courthouse, Greenwood Cemetery, and the Bibb House Museum. Famous residents include astronaut Terrence W. Wilcutt and politician John J. Crittenden.
