Bling Salon

1.0

By tymishler

In November of 2017 John and Kathy Gentry ordered computer systems from my store & asked if we could help get them setup at their new salon. We assembled the computers and went on site to set them up. We spent a lot of time at their salon over several days trying to help out with various things. They had an ancient computer at the salon office that was their main computer for running their tanning beds and their scheduling. We had trouble getting their tanning salon software to work on the new machines because it was so old, discontinued and unsupported. We never told them that we would "adopt" their old programs and issues, but let them know that we'd try to help get it working if possible. After several trips to and from their salon helping to setup various things I decided to mail and email them the invoice for computers. They had been calling us every day for various questions and needs (none of it pertaining to the new computers) and we tried to help them wherever we could. Once we sent them the invoice, we stopped hearing from them. I had sent emails to both John and Kathy in December & they had us on ignore. In Mid January, I went to the salon to try and speak with Kathy directly since she wouldn't answer phone or return emails. She wasn't there, so I ended up repossessing the front desk computer that we had setup. This got their attention! She flew down to my store & demanded it back & said that it was their scheduling computer & they HAD to have it. I wasn't at the store when she came in, but I informed her that she could have it once they paid the bill for it. She didn't pay. She ended up calling the local police & filing a false police report saying that I had "Broke in to the salon before hours & stole the computer" . I had to laugh when the police came to my store & got the real story. I told them the situation & that they hadn't paid for ANY of the equipment & they agreed that I was right in repossessing what I could. ...read more

Terry Cozad Masonry

By elizabethstonor1

Terry Cozad Masonry has completed several projects for us including a curved bluestone walkway and landing, a two level bluestone patio and a curved fieldstone wall. We are return customers because the workmanship is professional, the costs are reasonable and the results are beautiful. Terry Cozad Masonry assisted us in the design of the projects and were easy to work with when changes were made during construction. We have no reservation referring them to friends and associates for masonry projects. ...read more

How to properly store your furniture

ON APRIL 23, 2018 BY QUIKSTOR FOR ALL STORAGE HAYDEN   Let me guess you bought a new, sleek and sophisticated leather couch brimming with the definition of classy comfort. Or perhaps a new dining table set featuring a detailed hand carved floral design with a rich mahogany finish? Whatever the case may be, you’re now stuck with old furniture. A proper solution to this dilemma would be to store your old furniture in a storage facility. Storing furniture in a storage facility is a completely different animal than storing boxes and trinkets. There are a few additional steps and preparation for furniture storage. Moving furniture isn’t as simple as it may seem. So to help our community, I’ve compiled a few furniture storage tips and tricks. Check them out! Do you need Climate Controlled Storage? First and foremost, determine the type of material your furniture is made out of. This’ll help you decided whether or not a climate controlled unit is needed or not. For instance, wood furniture is typically known to chip and crack when temperatures are too dry. One of the best storage methods in ensuring that your furniture remains unscathed during the storage period is investing in a climate controlled unit. A climate controlled unit is a unit that will keep your belongings in a constant environment. Generally speaking, the temperate settings for the climate controlled unit range anywhere from 55 degrees to 85 degrees. Climate controlled units are enclosed units; therefore it’ll resist dust, pests, humidity and other elemental threats. If you live in an area with high weather and temperature volatility, I highly recommend going with a climate controlled storage unit. How big of a unit would I need to store my furniture? This question seems a bit obvious, but the size of your unit does matter. In addition to considering a climate controlled storage unit, please also consider if the unit is large enough to comfortably accommodate your furniture. Now, what do I mean by comfortably accommodate your furniture? I’m talking about ventilation. Ventilation is a critical component in preserving your furniture. When storing your furniture, try not to store your furniture pressed against a wall. If possible, elevate your furniture off the floor with pallets to help better facilitate the airflow. This will help keep any potential mold at bay. Have you prepared Your Furniture for storage? One of the fundamental storage preparations for storage is to disassemble the furniture as much as possible for easier storage. This’ll allow you to make the most of the space and help better protect it. As tempted as you may be to wrap your furniture in plastic wrap or cover, don’t do it. Doing so will increase the odds of heat and moisture damage by preventing adequate ventilation. There are, however, specialized storage covers you may use to keep your furniture safe. Specifically, when it comes to mattress storage, you should definitely invest in a mattress storage bag to help ward off potential little critters. In the case of leather furniture, the best preparation prior to storage is to coat the leather with a protective wax or polish to help reduce the effects of temperature change and moisture. When it comes to wood furniture, you’ll look at a more extensive care preparation because wood is susceptible to splitting and cracking due to dryness. One of the best methods to prep wood furniture prior to storage is coating it with a protective wooden wax or polish. Don’t be afraid to be generous with the polish, it’s better to use too much than too little. All Storage Northwest | 1985 W.
