I took a risk one day searching for a stylist much closer to home. I decided to try Salon Baptiste, for some reason I liked the sound of the name. What can I say? I'm a highly satisfied customer and I've been going back every since the very first visit. The stylists are nice and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Ms. Jackie is one of the best natural hair stylist I've come across in years. I'm a very active, on the go person and I'm always looking for styles that compliment my level of activity and work profession. I have heavily relied on Jackie's expertise and love of natural hair. She creates some of the best natural styles I've seen grace my head since deciding to go natural. She is a very talented woman, who has helped me to learn to care for my hair and keep it looking its best while away from the shop. I cannot count the number of compliments I get on my natural hair. I'm so happy! A big thanks to Ms. Jackie!!! :) ...read more

I found this salon through a coworker. Cheryl is amazing!! I have had countless of stylists since I have moved to Atlanta. I finally found someone who listens to me, understands my lifestyle and more importantly understands my hair. I've been going to Cheryl for years now to keep my hair beautiful and healthy. Cheryl is an amazing stylist who focuses not only on the hair style, but on keeping your hair as healthy as possible. My hair is so much healthier and stronger since I have left it in her care. Salon Baptiste has the most professional and caring stylists that I have ever experienced. I can't go anywhere in Atlanta without someone stopping me and sayingâ "Who does your hair? It's so beautiful!" I just smile and say, Ask for Cheryl, Dee Dee or Nicoleâ, while handing them the card to Salon Baptiste. Whether your needs involve, coloring, cutting, highlights, relaxing, hair extensions or a simple wash and set, you will never be disappointed. If you are looking for talented indi ...read more

Keratin Smoothing Client Comments

My second Kerating Smoothing Service was done this past week.  I am still enjoying the service. Got lots of compliements on my hair.  Makes your haircolor look great! Keratin Smoothing, like anything else, is not for everyone. Clients who can benefit from the service love it! If you like wearing blonde or lightening your hair several levels lighter than you natural color, if you want to transition from relaxer to natural, if you are all naturally curly yet want a smoother style that will be easier to manage the system may be for you. Here's a message from a visiting client that I want to share with you...Domain Name:E-mail Address:Comments: I was visiting GA for the holidays and the clerk at my hotel refered me to Nicole at Salon Baptiste. Cheryl was very professional in welcoming me to the salon. I so pleased with the hospitality and professionalism that I called my sister-in-law that was in from VA and had her come over from the hotel to get her hair done also. We had a wonderful time. They made us feel right at home. They introduced me to a product called Keritan. They were kind enough to give me a little consultation about the product, (did not presure me to get it done there at that time) they gave me a brochure on the product and I came home to PA to find that my stylist here was familiar with Keritan. I have tried it and love it. I called back to GA to talk to Nicole about each step that was being done and she was kind enough to spend time with me on the phone.I thank God for putting good people in my life. I will be having my hair done at Salon Baptiste again when I'm in town.Blessing,Louise From The Poconos ...read more

Sensitive Scalp Relaxers-Straight Talk from Cheryl Baptiste

Sensitive Scalp (mix) relaxers were developed for clients who are sensitive to sodium hydroxide relaxer (no mix).  This DOES NOT mean that Sensitive Scalp relaxer is better for your hair.  Sensitive Scalp relaxer does not straighten and smooth the hair like sodium hydroxide relaxer.  Sensitive Scalp tends to be more drying to the client's hair.  I personally use Sensitive Scalp on a very, very small percentage of my clients because it is needed far less frequently than one might think.  Sensitive scalp relaxer is often left on the hair far too long because the client doesn't feel discomfort on the scalp.  This practice is very damaging to the hair, leads to overprocessing and breakage. When you're close to your relaxer apointment avoid brushing or scratching the scalp, wearing tight ponytails, drinking hot beverages or working out just before appointment (opens the pores).  If you are itchy days before your appointment, use a lite hairdress, letting the product disappear into the skin as you would when applying lotion to the body.I highly recommend going to a salon because you cannot see behind your head.  Appying and smoothing the relaxer within the recommended amount of time is very important. Quite often this cannot be accomplished by an untrained person.  Why do you think consumers are protected by states requiring Cosmetologist to have a license? Dr. Syed (Avlon Industries-Affirm, KeraCare, Syntonics) has a message for you on the attached YouTube link regarding relaxing.  Please click and listenhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=omY7ybac1vo ...read more
