I've been a customer for years and can always count on cudos to have a great gift for every occasion. However, I always feel like I am being treated like a criminal when I am trying to shop. I totally understand the need to keep an eye on customers to prevent shoplifting but most employees there take it way too far. I do not feel comfortable when I shop there. I have a hard time relaxing and enjoying the store. I feel like I have to pick something out and run straight to the register with it. And then of course ask for help when I am ready to check out. Also instead of following me around, seeing I have a baby with me, why don't you mention baby items are half off. Just a thought. Really really disappointed in gift wrapping these days here. If you can't offer a real gift wrap, don't offer it at all. I don't like my items being completely visible as a gift to someone! I've always taken my watches to the Gold Shop because they do $5 battery repair and take care of links or whatever I need adjusted - and I love my watches! Plus I love looking at all the beautiful things! So when my best friend's fianc� asked me to help him find the perfect ring for her, I knew from all the times I'd been in there that the Gold Shop would be able to cater to her really specific taste. They actually had a lot of rings that you could customize exactly the way you want, and we found this gorgeous ring but we knew she wanted a princess cut diamond and they said it was absolutely no problem to swap it out. I have a fetish for watches, I'm in the military and I really didn't know where to go to get my watches fix. I went to Augusta mall on a weekend and ended up in kays jewelers with my girlfriend and they referred me to watches unlimited. I was really impressed how knowledgable the sales people person was about watches. So I went the following weekend and took my watches there to get fix. I needed glass replaced for my Invicta watch and I needed to get my movado reburbish bc it was scratch up. I left my watches that Saturday morning and I received a phone call on that night, saying that my watches were ready to to be picked. I was really impressed that how fast they fixed my watches and I ended up buying a another watch from them. I guess that it really depends on who is helping you in the store. I have bought items from them once in the past with no problem. I just had an employee try to sell me a 1965 Churchill Crown as an troy ounce silver coin. 1965 Churchill Crowns are made of a copper/nickel alloy. Lying over a $28 purchase. Its petty and sad really. Some of their jewlery and watches look very suspect as well but you can take a risk if you want. There are plenty of reputable coin and jewelry dealers in the area. Anyone who would lie to make a quick dollar doesn't deserve your business. In the business for 30 years, David Sweeney repairs clocks and watches in his quaint little shop located at 3705 Washington Road (PH706-863-9723 Hours M-F 8A-5P).Sweeney's is in a small plaza at the corner of Iron & Steel Drive and Washington Road, across the street from Prince Drive and Master GMC Automotive. You can spot this small plaza easier by looking for the Double O Sole Shoe Repair Shop sign. Upon entering Sweeney's Watch and Clock Repairs, I immediately noticed the antique clocks on the walls ticking softly, adding to the relaxing atmosphere. The old fashioned cash register added to the charm. I was greeted promptly by Pat Adams and then David, the carftsman himself. My questions about my famiy's heirloom watch were answered to my satisfaction by phone and in person. The quoted price for the repair work was 34% of what a competitor quoted, saving me a large sum! The work was done as predicted, in only 3-4 business days, and was amazing! A pendant watch, approximately 45 years old, looked new, was set to the correct time and running beartifully! I was on a business trip to Augusta, GA during the week of 5-Dec-10. I noticed that the crystal on my Skagen watch had fallen off while traveling enroute. I brought my broken watch to Watches Unlimited, and pre-paid to have it fixed and shipped back to my home. I also purchased a new Skagen replacement watch. I was told that the watch would most likely be repaired and sent to my home in the next week. I have been in contact with the Watches Unlimited store a several of times since I arranged to have it fixed and I've been told that the watch is ready and will be shipped out.
