META tags aren't visible to visitors but they tell spiders what the pages are all about. In general, the most useful META tags in terms of search engine success are the "keywords" and "description" tags. Tune Your KeywordsKeywords should provide a unique identification of the content offered on your Web site. Put the most important words first, Use the plural form of nouns. Try to make the keywords for each page unique or in a different order in the least. Write a Compelling DescriptionSpiders index the words in the META Description as if they were keywords. AVOID stop words like: and, or, at, if. A description less then 150 characters will be displayed in its entirety on the search results.
