Fifth Third Bank give fees and ripping off their customers another name. I get 10 of their customers to one of the other banks. Complaint after Complaint. I expect to see a class action lawsuit aganist Platinum bank any time, they are taking all kinds of fees that are in question. U.S. District Court Judge for the Southern District of Florida is hearing cases of this type now, if the Banks lose it will break some of them. They are asking for the Banks to pay back all the fees and pay punitive damages to the customers. Small Banks can't handle a lost in one of these types of suits. We are talking about millions and millions of dollars. If they keep this up it will happen. I have a little account at Platinum and they have charged it fee after fee, non earned, I talked to them and no one talks about giving back any fees, I was told there would be more.How can you charge a customer a $35 fee if he eats at McDonalds and uses his card for $5 and it over draws his account $2. His Hamburger costs him $38.Its just like stealing from their customers. I'm not the only one that feels like this, most people I talk to do. More Lawsuits coming. ...read more

Several of the nationâÂÂs largest banks are the targets of lawsuits seeking class action status that were filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida. The suits alleges an abusive and excessive overdraft fee policies. âÂIn the era of electronic banking and the ubiquitous use of debit card transactions, the assessment of overdraft fees has become a major profit center for many United States banks,. The named plaintiffs in that case are from Florida, Indiana, Texas, Louisiana and Georgia. A recent study by the Center for Responsible Lending found banks and credit unions raked in close to $24 billion in overdraft fees last year as an increasing number of Americans withdrew more from their checking accounts than they had in them. ...read more
