I ordered a roll up door from Leslie, paid for it and told leslie i would be collecting it the next day from the georgia factory. Two days later i drive my truck and trailer 8 hours (4 hours each way) from SC to GA to collect my door. Get there. no door. The factory advises me they will not make the door for another 2 weeks. I am furious, i have just wasted $200 in gas and a day on the road. I have promised my customer installation in the next 2 days. I contact Leslie, expecting Roll up doors direct to ship the door to me once it is built. Well Leslie refunds my money and wipes her hands of the problem. ROLL UP DOORS DIRECT - YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKS - The measure of a good company is one that resolves the problems when they arise - not one that runs away RESPONSE FROM All Doors Direct: As our doors are custom made to order, the doors take 5 days to produce. ROLL UP DOORS DIRECT - YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS THE WORST - Worst experience ever - terrible customer service - Leslie should be fired, will never buy from them again. It’s essential that when you let someone in your home or business, that you know they are a licensed professional. Hiring a licensed contractor offers many additional protections to the property owner, especially regarding residential property. First of all, a contractor can not obtain a license without possessing a minimum amount of experience and must pass a business management test. The applicant also may be subjected to a criminal history background check, and must not have any unresolved contracting complaints outstanding. So here’s our Five Minute Process that could potentially protect you from a huge financial mistake. *We will be using The State of Florida as our example. If you live in another state, laws will be similar, but check your government’s regulations and laws for differences Go to MyFlorida.com. Click on the large red italic font “Licensee Search”, near the top of the page , in the Featured e-Government Services section. (note that to some, it will looks like a heading for what’s below it instead of a “link”). Find the type of Contractor you’re looking for (ex. Air Conditioning Contractor, Electrical Contractor or General Contractor). Click that category and you will be taken to a screen with various search options. If you are checking a particular company or a certain individual, click on Search by Name, but there are other options available as well. Click the Search button at right. Now you can enter the information, and we will use Kalos Services, Inc. as a sample. Enter that into the “Organization/Establishment name” field and you can add the city of “Clermont”. You’ll see a list of licenses on the screen, and in our particular case see the Air Conditioning, Electrical and General Contractors license we hold. (You can also click into the entry to further investigate the company – to ensure that everything is up to date with their Florida license and that you are looking at the right company.) There you go! Though this won’t completely protect you from incompetence, it will at least protect you from scammers. This can be a great resource when you’re doing business with anyone that you have not properly vetted or without solid referrals.
