Run away quickly: I was in an accident with my 6 month old car. We took it to Erie LaSalle as they had a reputation of working with nice cars. Little did we know their workmanship was the poorest in Chicagoland. After almost a month, they finally called and said the car was ready. I walked in to see huge paint drips all over the body, panes of the car didn't even come close to lining up, the interior the replaced was peeling, torn and scratched. After pointing out these major problems, they got an attitude with me. Long story short, it took them over 6 months to repair this car that should have been totaled to begin with (the car was worth $24,000 and ended with $21,000 worth of repairs). But they gave us an original estimate of $9000 to apparently get money out of the insurance companies. After I had been driving the car for about 3 months, the paint on the hood, front bumper and side panels began bubbling and peeling off. Customer service is non existant as they left me standing in the office for 20 minutes before I walked into the garage and demanded someone speak to me and update me on the status of my car. They rarely called to let me know what was going on and took several attempts for me to reach the case manager when I called there--it got to be easier to walk into the office to get answers. Overall, VERY DISSAPPOINTED!

Happy That I Picked Erie-La Salle Body Shop

My insurance company American Family gave me a choice of shops and I said ""that one"" and I am happy I did. It is a very friendly and welcoming environment. I would refer others definitely.

THE WORST BODY SHOP IN CHICAGO

This is the worst body shop in chicago. I went with a friend to get a dent fixed in the side of the car and his bumper refinished from the nicks that you get from parking on the street. We arrived to pick it up and the bumper had a good 3 inch gap and there were new scratches on the passenger side door and on the passenger side mirror. When brought to there attention they at first denied the scratches but said they would fix the bumper. Why they didn't do this at first is beyond me. They bring it back out and the bumper is sill not right. during the time we are waiting to talk to someone again, three people come in reporting scratches that where not on their cars before they brought them in. We told them that we would not pay until it is fixed. They tried to give us the run around saying that it was the old damaged bumper and that the scratches where there. Eventually they conceded and said they would fix it. We come back a few days later and the bumper is looks good, they simply attached it correctly, again should have been done the first time, and the scratches were painted. We ask for some bill adjustment, since the price was high and we were so inconvinienced, and after fighting all we got was 50 dollars off. My friend and I will never return. Lets put this place out of business.

EXTRAORDINARY REPAIR EXPERIENCE

I heard of Erie-Lasalle from numerous people in the downtown area. Little did I know I would be using them soon! From the time I first called them until I picked up my vehicle [1 day before Its projected delivery date] I was treated intelligently and respectfully. The repairs to my vehicle are flawless and comes with a lifetime guarantee. They explained everything to me clearly and communicated with me during the repairs as to status. I could not recommend the highly enough.

BEWARE!

Sorry I was not able to give less than 1 star. First off it took them 6 weeks to repair my auto. Since my car was there I asked repeatedly for a qoute on a small dent repair aside from the13,00 dollars worth of work being done already but never received a call back quote. After finally getting my car I had to return it 5 minutes later due to problems with the steering which were not ever fixed. Anyway had to sell the car at a loss just to call it a day. BEWARE.
