Cohen's Fashion Optical

the manager Minh Luong has poor customer skills. He tries to answer questions before you finish talking, as if trying hard to look smart. He likes to say he has over 25 years of experience in the business and he acts like he wants to give you a deal under the table. He repeats his answers again and again when he gets stock in his own thinking. He can be very rude and he lacks of common sense, possibly a very unintelligent person. I will never recommend this store under this manager located in Stamford Town Center, CT ...read more

I went there mainly for the eye exam because it is only $30. I knew I needed new eyeglasses so I thought, well probably I'll buy them there but before deciding I'd like to have the opportunity to shop around and then maybe I'll go back to Cohen.\t\n\t\nThe visit was accurate, the doctor was kind. I paid for the exam and I asked for my prescription. The lady said: no, we keep it. So I asked for a copy and she wrote down on a piece of paper with the name of the doctor what was on the prescription. (I hope I can use it anywhere else in the future).\t\nI realized later that she didn't write down right eye or left eye, just the two numbers, and as there is a small difference I can't really say which is which if order contact lenses, so I need to ask that. My question is: is it legal for them not to give you the prescription? I mean I go there for an exam, I pay for it, they must give me the prescription otherwise is it like I pay for nothing. Of course they do that to force you to buy the lenses there. What if I want to buy them somewhere else or if I want to buy contact lenses online? I guess they can easily be sued.\t\n\t\nIn any case I ordered my eyeglasses there, and I'll pick them up in a few days. They are very cool but also a little expensive. \t\n\t\nA young guy was not very helpful in helping me choose the right frame and lenses but a lady was instead very kind and helpful.\t\n\t\nTip: if you are a AAA member you get 30% discount.\t\n\t\n ...read more
