Polish Kielbasa
Yes, we carry Polish kielbasa (also called Polska kielbasa) you have been longing for! …ok, I know that you may say there is no specific sausage called kielbasa, and you're right because every family has its own recipe. Kielbasa is the Polish word for sausage. Almost all sausages in our meat department are called kielbasa, but not all kielbasa from our meat department are Polish. There's only one sausage that can rightfully carry the word Polish in its name and that's the Polish Smoked Sausage. Polska Kielbasa has been brought to America by some of its first immigrants. The recipe of the famous Smoked Polish Sausage is simple and has been known for centuries. Kielbasa Polska has been always made from meat (consisting mostly of pork in most recipes; that usually means ¾ pork and ¼ or less of beef), garlic, salt and pepper. By knowing these four key-ingredients you may understand why so many people over the world are trying to make Polish Kielbasa but end up creating their own versions instead of making the original Polish Sausage. Nobody can truly say their recipe is original because every family has its own recipe. Your grandparents most likely made their own sausage, but if they came from Poland, they called it Kielbasa! We always have well defined Polish Smoked sausages kielbasas (also known as Polska Kielbasa) such as Kabanocy, Krakowska, Krolewska, Polish White kielbasa (biała) and other Polish sausages produced based on old fashion Polish recipes by meat companies based in Chicago, Denver and New York.***** Polish white kielbasa (biała) is sold uncooked and unsmoked, then it's usually boiled or cooked in a white borshch (barszcz) by our consumers. You can enjoy white kielbasa with horseradish flavored with beets, which is called cwikla. ...read more
