Last week Haglin Automotive had a Ford Explorer in that would not back up and thought they had a transmission problem. After the car was towed in because the driver felt that it was not safe to drive, we brought it into the shop and found that the front brakes were worn down to the metal and was cutting the rotor in half. The piston had come out of the caliper causing a hydraulic leak and subsequent brake failure. The customer that it had been making noise at least 2 weeks. If he brought in the car sooner, when he first heard the noise it could have saved hima considerable amount of money on his brake repair.
