They said in their ad they were fast and they weren't kidding. I had been burned by a bail bond agency before so I wanted to meet them in person. I was working on a TV show in Mexico last year, covering the Baja 500 in San Felipe. On the way back home, our show producer was arrested at the border on a warrant out of Nevada. We were all shocked. He was booked in at the jail in El Centro. I followed behind in the truck and sat for several hours before realizing that he was going to need some help. I called SCV because a friend used them when he got a DUI. They were amazing. I could tell that they cared about my friend and wanted to do whatever possible to get him out. They called me every 30-60 minutes with updates and made me feel like I had a friend in my corner. I don't know anyone in that town, so that was huge. You guys rock! New Laws Taking Effect in 2015
In 2014, the California State Legislature was busy at work. They passed 930 laws; many coming into effect as of January 1st. July 1st, the statewide ban on plastic bags is going to be a reality. Opponents turned in signatures to the Secretary of State, which bans single-use plastic bags. If the signatures turned in are deemed legitimate, the measure may be suspended until 2016. What crimes have been downgraded from felonies to misdemeanors? Under Proposition 47, the crimes of theft, shoplifting, forgery and several drug possession offenses would be reduced from felonies to misdemeanors, which means that the sentencing requirements for these crimes would likely not result in any jail time at the state level.
