They extended an existing fence for us. The seams were sloppy, the edges overhanging...the project manager, in an email, agreed it was unacceptable quality and assured us they would fix it. After two weeks of phone tag, standing us up on an arranged meeting to discuss it. They refused to fix it or discuss it further. We had to hire someone else to fix it. If you like poor workmanship, high prices and lousy customer service this is the place for you. ...read more

Before you start checking out different fence types, you need to head to the homeowners’ association office first. This is to learn about the different policies that they may have surrounding fence installation. You don’t want to waste your time and effort only to find out that you’re not allowed to have it in your area. What is your goal? Answering this question will narrow down your choices a lot. Is your sole priority to ensure that your pet doesn’t leave the premises? Do you want more privacy? Do you want something a little more secure than the other? Do you want a fence that can reduce the noise coming from outside? Determining your priorities and goals in having a fence will point you to the right type of fence. 2. Fence material There are different types of materials you can choose from. For example, it’s very easy to find avinyl fence in Los Angelesbecause it’s one of the most common materials being used in this area because it requires low maintenance. If it’s well taken care of, one can enjoy this fence up to more than 20 years. If you want something similar in terms of maintenance and longevity, the cedar might be the right one for you. Of course, there’s also the aluminum, for those who want something lightweight.  3. Budget Considering your budget early on will give you an idea which type of fence is best for you. If you’re not sure about your budget, you can always talk to a professional and they can answer any question as to which the soundest choice is given your financial capabilities. 4. Aesthetic value The fence is the first thing people see in your property. This is why you need to pick the design that goes well with house’s exterior design. You don’t want your patio or your great landscape to lose its aesthetic value because you picked the wrong fence.  There you go. Protect Your Home and Family with Solid Vinyl Fencing

There is more to home fencing systems than the traditional white picket fence. If you’re checking out options to help you find the right choice for your home, why not consider vinyl? Read on to know the pros of opting for vinyl fences. Requires little to no maintenance When people shop around for a fencing system, many of them forget to take the maintenance work and costs into account. For instance, if you’re buying a wood fence, then you’re going to need to shell out money to get that treated every few years. That’s not counting the maintenance work and costs that you’ll need to worry about. By going for a material like vinyl, you won’t have to think about painting or staining your fencing systems again, The Spruce says. That’s an excellent reason to choose vinyl fence supplies for your fencing system. With a fencing system that lasts with minimal to no maintenance, you won’t need to worry about it breaking down and causing problems for you and your family any time soon. Plenty of styles If you like the look of a traditional wood fence, but want something as durable as vinyl, there’s a handy solution for you. Vinyl fencing systems are available in a slew of designs, including ones that resemble wood fences. Just shop around. If you want the classic look, but sans the hassle and maintenance that wood requires, then check these options out. With solid vinyl fencing systems that resemble traditional wood fence designs, you can ensure privacy inside your home. Does not splinter Splinters can be a pain to deal with, which is another black mark against wood fences. However, if you have a child, then those splinters can be painful, and in some cases, dangerous. The last thing you want is for your kids to get hurt while they’re playing in the yard. Eliminate those splinters by having vinyl fencing installed on your property. With these fences in place, you won’t need to worry about your little ones hurting themselves out in the yard. Variety of colors If you love to play with colors and you want something beyond the usual run of neutral shades, then check outvinyl fence suppliesin an extensive range of hues. Go beyond the basic options such as white, gray and tan. Explore available shades to bring a bit of pop into your backyard, Do It Yourself says. That should go well for your garden fences to keep the deer and other pests out. However, if you’re checking out fences for your backyard or front yard and you want something to blend in with your plants or create a boundary, then pick out fences in neutral shades. This choice can result in handy camouflage, which can boost your security. The right fencing system can help you keep your home and your family safe and protected. 12 Questions to Ask Fence Contractors Prior to a Fence Installation

Learn to ask the right questions. Read through this list to have an idea what to ask before you hire contractors forfence installation. How long have you been in business? Experience matters. That’s why you’ll want to hire a company that’s been around for years, the Home Advisor says. If the company has only been in business of a year, they may not have the resources or knowledge to deal with problems if and when they happen. How much will it cost? Talk about the budget. Find out how much the job will cost you and if you’re well under budget or not. Will you get the permits? Sometimes, the fencing contractors will take care of this for you. However, in some cases, you may need to get the permits yourself. Ask if you’re going to handle this or if they’re taking over, The Spruce says. How will you deal with the space? If you have a sloped property, then you’re going to need to ask for more details on how the fencing company intends to deal with the space. Will they install stepped fences? Will that be a problem? Ask so you’d have a better idea of how the work is going to go. How tall will the fence be? You may have an ideal height for your fence in mind. But this may be affected by the grade of the fence. Your contractors may also have suggestions or advice. Listen to them. How long will it take? Don’t be afraid to ask questions regarding the timeline. If you’re on a tight deadline, then you’ll want to talk to the contractors and agree on start and end dates. Be realistic with the dates, though. Reputable firms often have busy schedules and full calendars. How many projects do you have at the moment? Engaging the services of a competent firm for fence installation isn’t going to help if they’re too busy. If the crew has too many projects on its plate, then they may not be able to devote as much time and attention to your fence. Are you insured? Before you hire a fencing company, make sure they’re insured. That’s going to protect you from future costs in case a worker gets into an accident while working on your property. What kind of materials will you use? This will affect your costs and long-term maintenance work. Decide whether you want something durable and long-lasting like vinyl or traditional and stylish that requires plenty of maintenance work like wood. Who will work on my property? Meet up with the fencing crew for your project. That should help you decide if they’re a good match for your project. How much is the down payment? Don’t pay more than 20 percent of the total amount of the job. If the contractor asks for more than that, that’s a red flag. Walk away. What payment methods work for you? Find out what payment methods work with the contractor before you sign on the dotted line. ...read more
