Salem is the state capitol of Oregon and the county seat of Marion County. It is located in the Willamette Valley region which is known for its agriculture, wine, and natural beauty. The Salem Saturday Market is held annually from May through October. Salem also hosts the World Beat Festival in June and the Bite of Salem in July. Willamette University and Corban College are the largest schools in the area. Major attractions in the area include the Capitol Center, the historic Reed Opera House, and the Oregon State Hospital where the movie "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was filmed.
