About Sterling Heights, MI
Sterling Heights is a suburb in Macomb County, north of Detroit, Michigan. This city is well known for its numerous events that take place throughout the year such as the popular American-Polish Festival as there is a large Polish population in this city. Major attractions include Freedom Hill Park, and Freedom Hill Amphitheater, which is the largest amphitheater in Macomb County. Freedom Hill Park is also home to the very large Bethesda Church. Each year on Memorial Day a parade is held in Sterling Heights. Another big event called Sterlingfest is held during the first week of August. Among the largest companies in Sterling Heights are General Motors and IBM. The biggest schools here are Macomb Community College and Adlai E. Stevenson High School, the third largest high school in Michigan. One of the best places to visit when you are in Sterling Heights is Dodge Park near downtown Sterling Heights. Rock singer Bob Seger lived in Sterling Heights, and Basketball player Kalin Lucas of the Michigan State Spartans was born in Sterling Heights.
