How To Buy The Best Chess Timer Clock – A Quick Guide

“Chess is everything: art, science, and sport” - Anatoly Karpov In a game of chess, you contemplate the best moves in your mind and replicate on the board. It’s considered one of the best games for the brain, especially because it enables a gymnasium for superior acrobatics in the mind. If you play a real match, you will need a chess timer clock for finishing the game in a limited time period. Choosing the appropriate timer could be confusing if you’re looking at several options available in the market. Will you need it for home or travel? Is it analog or digital? Answering these basic questions will get you near to the right timer clock very soon. Here’s some guidance. Portable or High-end clock? If you’re a frequent traveler, a portablechess timerclock would be more suitable. However, those who enjoy a game of chess at home will love traditional and beautiful high-end timer clocks. Material To be honest, plastic-made clocks have better durability than wooden ones. If you are always “on-the-go”, a plastic one would do. Non-traveling folks can have expensive wooden types. Aesthetics v/s practicality If you go by looks, then a hard button wouldn’t bother you. But, if you are a serious player, you will pay more emphasis on the practicality of the timer clock. Analog v/s digital Those who love the old style of playing achess gamecan stick to the traditional analog designs. Players with a penchant of accuracy can switch to digital versions of the timer clock. Browse online sites for suitable deals within your budget. ...read more

October Landscape Tips by Rod Smith.

The landscaping company where I used to work would remove every single leaf from the neighborhoods we maintained. Since they did not have the budget to apply bark dust, they left bare soil through the winter. Annual Bluegrass and Hairy Bittercress rapidly sprouted to fill in the void and I had to spray for weeds as often as the weather permitted. This is not an economical or ecologically friendly approach. If some of the leaves were left in the beds under the trees and shrubs, they would act as a mulch to keep weeds from sprouting. It has to be healthier for the trees and shrubs to have some leaf cover as mulch to protect the roots from extreme temperatures. That is how plants survive and thrive naturally. Of course, leaves have to be removed from lawns to prevent smothering. Also, some leaves, especially maple leaves, will catch the wind and blow around so they should be removed. But there are plenty of small leaves or flat leaves that will stay put and prevent weeds. Oak leaves are especially good at this. If the customer wants all of the leaves removed, then compost or bark dust should be spread to prevent weeds. One landscaper I know has it written into every maintenance contract that at least an inch of mulch will be maintained at all times. If it gets thin, the customer pays to bring mulch levels up to three inches. This is a much more sensible way to prevent weeds and help plants thrive.  Add some extra interest to your landscape by including plants which attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Adult butterflies feed on nectar from flowers while larvae, caterpillars, feed on leaves. Some plants that attract a number of different butterflies include: Asclepias, Aster, Dianthus Sweet William, Erysimum Wallflower, Holodiscus Oceanspray, Leucanthemum Shasta Daisy, Mentha Garden Mint, Monarda Bee Balm (pictured above), Penstemon, Philadelphus Mock Orange, Phlox, Prunus Cherry/Plum, Rubus Blackberry, Solidago Goldenrod, Syringa Lilac, Trifolium Clover, Salix Willow. Garden perennials which provide nectar for both hummingbirds and butterflies include: Armeria Sea Thrift, Aruncus Goat’s Beard, Brodiaea Firecracker Plant, Campanula Bellflower, Delphinium, Dianthus Pinks, Echinops Globe Thistle, Erigeron Fleabane, Erysimum Wallflower, Gaillardia Blanket Flower, Iris, Liatris Gayfeather, Lilium Lily, Lupinus Lupine, Monarda Bee Balm (pictured above), Nepeta Catmint, Penstemon, Phlox Garden Phlox, Rudbeckia Black-eyed Susan, Scabiosa Pincushion Flower, Solidago Goldenrod, Verbena. Updated Sep 17, 2018  Share post  June Landscape Tips by Rod Smith Now is the time to start checking azaleas and rhododendrons for azalea lace bugs. They first start feeding on the underside of leaves from last year. Later they will move to the new leaves. A single spray of Bayer’s Advanced Complete Insect Control should control lace bugs for the rest of the summer. It contains Cyfluthrin for quick control and Imidacloprid for long lasting control. An organic alternative is Captain Jack’s Dead Bug Brew which contains Spinosad. It is less harmful to natural predators of lace bugs, but probably will need to be applied more than once. Be sure to spray the undersides of the leaves. Both products are toxic to bees and cannot be applied until the flowers have all dropped off. Sometimes I pick the last flowers off so I can spray all of the rhodies and azaleas at once. If there is a problem with a plant, whether caused by insect, disease or soil, contact me. European Crane Fly larvae stop feeding in June, but the spring hatch of Common Crane Fly larvae continue to feed in July and August when lawns are more stressed. Common Crane Fly will cause dead patches in lawns with only eight larvae per square foot, while lawns will tolerate more than twenty-five European Crane Fly per square foot with no visible damage. Any Crane Fly adults observed in the spring are Common Crane Fly, not European Crane Fly. Hosta buds are growing now which means that it is the best time of year to apply slug bait. When hosta buds are an inch or two tall, it shows that the soil is warm enough that slugs are active but there is little for them to eat. They will really chow down on slug bait this time of year. I have found that a heavy application of slug bait now will pretty well prevent slug damage for the rest of the year. Rod Smith Office Manager Licensed Oregon Commercial Pesticide Applicator Updated Sep 11, 201  Share post  Many insects, mites and diseases overwinter on twigs, branches and tree trunks. Dormant sprays can be the most important pest control of the year to destroy pests before they start to multiply. Dormant oil controls insects, scales and mites. Be careful not to spray oil on evergreens. Copper, mancozeb and lime-sulfur control various diseases. They can be applied full strength to deciduous trees and shrubs while they have no leaves. For best results, spray on a warm day with no rain or freezing weather expected for at least eight hours. Lichen and moss can also be controlled by full strength sprays of copper, mancozeb and lime-sulfur this time of year. Lichen and moss do not harm trees and shrubs, but they are a sign that the inside of the canopy stays damp, so other diseases are likely. Thinning the canopy to allow light and air to penetrate will allow leaves to dry quicker and reduce disease problems. Rod Smith, Licensed Oregon Pesticide Applicator. The Death of a Prince

As the shock has begun to wear off from Prince's recent death, from a legal standpoint we have learned he died without a will. We also now know several people have claimed to be his children, as the rush to claim his fortune heats up. Had Prince executed a will (or other estate planning mechanism) he could have spared his family this problem. While probate does work for many people, a solid will still makes things easier on the survivors. ...read more

My wife and I have been truly blessed and welcomed at this church. We moved from Oahu, Hawaii a few years ago and hopped around about 10 different sanctuaries (good ones too!) looking for one that is scripture/Christ centered. We found immediately where our Oregon home church will be the moment we entered. I have grown more the first 6 months there then I have the previous 3 years. Perhaps I was more serious this time around but still yet, great ministry, great leaders, Pastors, CHILDREN'S MINISTRY, and so many levels of depth and diversity. Its a great place to give God praise with the church and get spiritual nutrition. Lots of groups and relationship opportunities. They love building people up, helping them find their gifts and getting them active in their faith. Highly recommend a visit. God will take it from there. Love you Pastor Rich and Pastor Matt!!!
