You may recall the Hope Credit, which gave a tax break on the first two years of college expenses. Now, the Hope Credit has been made available to a wider range of taxpayers, including many with higher incomes and those who owe no tax. It also adds required course materials to the list of qualifying expenses and allows the credit to be claimed for four post-secondary education years instead of two. If you are eligible, you may qualify for the maximum annual credit of $2,500 per student.
If you have questions about tax breaks to help offset college education costs, visit the IRS website or contact
